Hi, I'm Diana Colleen.

I'm a writer, a psychedelic facilitator, and someone who has been through enough to know hope is a choice.

The first half of my life was full of experiences no one should have to suffer.

I survived for a long time by ignoring all my trauma, but it eventually bubbled to the surface, and I went through a period so dark I wasn't sure I'd make it. Psychedelic-assisted therapy saved my life and it changed what I thought was possible, both for me and eventually for the characters I'd go on to write.

THEY COULD BE SAVIORS came out of that. I wrote it after I got through the anger and the despair and realized that hope is the consequence of action. And someone needed to write a climate novel that gave people hope. So I did. I believe fiction shouldn't only show us broken futures, it should show us what's possible.

Hope is the consequence of action.

My story, both the personal one and the novel, is for the Hopefuls — the people who carry the weight of the world yet still show up. The burned out, the grieving, the quietly furious. The ones who haven't given up even when giving up would be easier. That's who I write for because that's who I am.

I kiteboard, and I'm proud of it. Most people who try it quit before they ever get independent. I did not quit. It took years and I did not quit. I never give up, and that is probably the most accurate thing I can tell you about who I am.

I recently moved back to Canada, settling in Kelowna, BC. I share my home with my husband and two cats with strong opinions.

and now

I'm running for president of the United States.

I'm doing it as a Canadian, from Canada, and I'm constitutionally eligible to do so. I'm not naive enough to think I could be elected, and I don't even think I want the job. The run gives me a platform to talk about everything I think needs to change, not just the topics in my novel.
